Ben Miller Brings the Magic of Storytelling to Lapal!

What an exciting start to the week! On Monday, we were thrilled to welcome Ben Miller to Lapal Primary School for a very special author visit.

As well as being well known for his acting, Ben is a wonderfully creative author. He captivated the children as he shared some of his stories and talked about the inspiration behind his writing. The children were engaged and hooked throughout!

We hope Ben's visit will inspire even more of our children to pick up a pen, use their imaginations and create exciting stories of their own.

Following the event, Ben generously stayed behind to sign over 100 copies of his book, Diary of a Wicked Witch. This gave the children a fantastic opportunity to speak to him individually, ask questions and have their very own copy signed.

Sophie in Year 4 has already read most of the book and shared her thoughts:

"I love this book because it is really funny and exciting. I would recommend this book to people who like witches. If you like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, this book is for you!"

We were also delighted to purchase additional copies of Diary of a Wicked Witch for our KS2 library, meaning that all of our Key Stage 2 children will have the opportunity to access and enjoy the book. We hope that seeing the author behind the story will make reading it even more special and encourage lots of children to give it a try.

Reading is something we value enormously at Lapal, and experiences like this help to bring books, authors and storytelling to life for our children. We look forward to many more exciting book events and author visits in the future as we continue to develop a genuine love of reading across our school.
