  • Year 6's Final Trip - West Midlands Police Museum

    On Thursday 13th July, the Year 6 pupils visited West Midlands Police museum as part of their History topic (Crime and Punishment). After taking a double decker bus journey, which the children were really excited by, the children arrived at the museum. To their surprise, it was filled with crime investigation tasks, costumes and outfits to try and a range of artefacts to explore. To add to this, the children were also involved in a workshop. The workshop talked through the journey of crime and punishment from the early 1600's right the way through to current day. All of the children had a fantastic, fun filled and educated day.

  • Year 6 Gargoyles

    This half term, year 6 have been experimenting with paper mâché to create a sculpture. Our focus for the sculptures was gargoyles. Whilst carrying out this art project, year 6 have learnt that gargoyles we used to decorate water fountains and used to deter spirts from buildings. Once the paper mâché was dry, the children used a technique called stippling to create texture.

  • Outstanding Football Achievement - Year 2 Boys

    On Saturday 8th July Lapal Colts under 7’s played in the Wordsley Wasps football tournament, I am so pleased to say the boys made it to the final and won ! 

    They were undefeated in the tournament and won 2-0 in the final. 

    Each and everyone of the boys were amazing, focused, committed, dedicated and supportive of each other. 

    All the hard work and training shone through.

    A day the boys will never forget!

  • Year 2 - Sunflowers

    The children in year 2 have been working scientifically within their 'growing plants' unit. They planted their sunflower seeds a little while ago and asked questions such as: How long will it take my seed to germinate? How long will it take my sunflower to grow 5cm? How tall will my sunflower grow in four weeks? The children have been busy making sure their sunflowers get the sunlight and water that they need to grow tall and strong.

  • Year 6 Visitor

    This week, year 6, were visited by SGT Tuck. The children were able to ask questions about how crimes and punishments had changed over time and what were the most common crimes are now. We found out that one of the most common crimes 'theft' this is something that is very similar to crimes in the 1800's. We also found out that there is a law that can still be enforced now from the 1800's - to be in charge of a horse whilst intoxicated.  This has allowed the children to prepare for their trip on Thursday to the West Midlands Police Museum.

  • Year 2 Transition

    The children have had a lovely day; they have met their new teachers and explored their new classrooms. During our special transition day, the children in year two read ‘The Rainbow Fish’ by Marcus Pfister and discussed our school value of kindness. We then explored what makes a good friend and wrote recipes for friendship. We used our recipes to create our friendship potions. Take a look at our very own rainbow fish. We shared a little bit about ourselves, created scales and popped them on a whole class fish.
