EYFS Chinese New Year Celebrations

Reception have enjoyed finding out about another event celebrated by members of our local community this week - Chinese Lunar New Year.

We created Chinese lanterns to decorate our classroom ready for tasting traditional Chinese snacks, learnt the animal of our birth year and competed in our own race based on the animals of the zodiac, and learnt mandarin greetings.

We created dances and used instruments to imitate the movements of a traditional Chinese lion dance, ending our day with a dragon march around school to bring good luck for the new year.
