Tremendous Textiles

This half term, year 5 and 6 have been developing and making their very own bags as part of their Design Technology curriculum. The children conducted research into different types of bags looking at their functionality, materials and colours and then constructed a design brief that was functional and appealing to their chosen targeted audience.

Through experimenting and exploring, the children were able to test a range of ways in which different textiles can be joined through different types of stitching as well as the use of zips and buttons.

They then created and perfected their very own bag, have a look at some of their final products.
