Whole School Virtual Assembly

This morning we held our first whole school virtual assembly! The focus of today’s assembly was celebrating the work of key workers and thinking about ways to remain positive during difficult times.

Representatives from each bubble joined Mrs Turner to share their experiences during lockdown. The children shared achievements and new skills they had learnt, such as learning how to ride their bike, play the piano, being able to recall times tables or baking new recipes. Upper key stage two children discussed ways they had remained strong, both mentally and physically, and how they now appreciate things that they have previously taken for granted.

We thought about all the key workers that continue to support us through this difficult time and watched a lovely poem written by children to say, ‘thank you’. https://www.bbc.co.uk/newsround/52574524

We concluded our assembly by saying that sometimes, things will happen that affect us that we have no control over. It is important to focus on the positives and help to support each other as much as we can.

Each bubble then made their way outside so that we could all stand and clap for our key workers.

Our reception pupils then said a final "Thank you" to end our assembly.

Thank you to everyone
