World Book Day 2023!

What an incredible book filled day we have had! From the children entering the school in their wonderful costumes, to them finding their £1 book they had chosen on their table, they have been surrounded by texts.

We started our day discovering the selected texts put out in classrooms. The children had 30 minutes to read and enjoy their new World Book Day books. We then had a whole school world Book Day assembly, where we listened to authors of our books describe their favourite first books; their favourite places to read which created some wonderful discussion; and how they choose a reading for pleasure book when at a library.

Back in classrooms, the children took part in their book launch. Each class had been purchased a new text for which they would focus their work on during the day. The book launch included sensory boxes, pass the parcel clues, hangman and many more.

Throughout the day, the pupils completed a range of writing and creative tasks inspired by their new class text. The classrooms were filled with fun, energy and a passion for reading throughout.
