Y6 Maths Mocktails

Yesterday, year 6 had a great time becoming mocktail makers in order to understand how ratio works. We created our own mocktail from the ingredients list and then decided how many parts each ingredient would get. We were then able to make our masterpiece.

We also had to consider how many parts would be required if we needed to scale the recipe up for more people. We then compared our ratio knowledge to fractions and percentages.

If my ratio was 2:4:2 then my fractions would be 2/8, 1/2, 2/8 and my percentages would be 25%, 50% 25%. It was great fun!
