Last week, as part of our history topic – World War II- year 6 visited the Cannock Chase War Museum. Whist here, we took part in many different activities to consolidate the learning that has taken place in our lessons. Through drama, we spent time exploring how children and their families would have been affected during World War II and how evacuation happened. This allowed us to see how some children were treated differently depending on who we were fostered by.
We were able to spend time in a replica 1940’s house and looked at different forms of entertainment and heard the announcement of World War II from Neville Chamberlin from a wireless. To end our day, we were all given a gas mask and learnt all about the blitz. We got to experience our very own Blitz warning and all entered the Anderson shelter
