Year 1 Firefighter Fun

The children were absolutely thrilled to have the firefighters visit this morning.

They listened so well to firefighter Sarah, who told us all about the clothes she wears and how each part helps to keep her safe in a fire.

We then had a tour of the fire truck and looked at all of the special things on there. We were amazed to find out that there are 4 ladders, 20 minutes worth of water in tank and that’s there is even room on the truck for a small kettle and fridge for the firefighters to use if needed!

We know the children loved having chance to sit in the fire engine and were all amazed how at high it was to climb in and out.

As the firefighters left they put on the lights, sirens and horn so we could see just how powerful (and loud) they are.
