Year 6 Bread Baking

After we all created the basic bread recipe a few weeks ago, year 6 have been working hard designing and creating new recipes to trial in the classroom. Our criteria was that we had to adapt the basic recipe in order to create a bread full of flavour and of a certain shape for a given occasion. Lots of the children opted for Valentines Day.

We had lots of interesting combinations: garlic, olives, jalapenos, pepperoni to name a few. And lots of wonderful heart shapes and plaits.

Today, we have been able to critique our own bread after sampling it.

We've had lots of fun and many children have said they want to bake more bread over half term so click here for a set of instructions for you to use and have a go at home.
