This week, year 6 had their first DT lesson of the year focusing on 'Bread'. We had received a letter from a local care home asking us to improve their usual white bread recipe for their residents to enjoy with a hot bowl of soup. They specified that while taste and appearance was very important, it was also important that the bread had a good texture and was healthy.
We spent the afternoon trying different breads and commenting on these qualities. It was fantastic trying a range of breads including soda bread, rye bread, naan bread and pumpernickel. Some of the reactions to the different types were fantastic!
