Year 6: Debate Workshop

This afternoon, our Year 6 pupils have had a fantastic debating workshop presented by local students of King Edwards School. The children have taken the roles as lawyers to either defend or prosecute a range of fictional characters for their crimes. They rehearsed their arguments which included many persuasive techniques, such as emotive language and flattery.
Anya stated, "It was really fun to try something new."
The children then presented their arguments in the courtroom before final votes were casted. It was such an incredible experience for all of the children involved in both classes. We look forward to further opportunities with Kind Edward's.
