Jump Rope For Heart

Last year Lapal took part in a Jump Rope For Heart event to raise money for the British Heart Foundation. Children were sponsored to take part in a jumpathon. Wear Red or Pink

On Tuesday pupils were asked to wear red or pink for a donation of £1 to raise money for an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in school. An AED is a machine used to give an electric shock when a person is in cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest can affect people of any age and without warning. If this happens, swift action in the form of early cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and prompt defibrillation can help save a person’s life. We hope that we would never need to use this equipment but feel it necessary to be prepared to help save a life. We are happy to announce that we raised a fantastic £246.40. Tesco Taste Session

Yesterday afternoon we had a visitor from Tesco come into school. She talked to Year 5 & 6 about labels on the products sold in supermarkets and why they are labelled up. She also talked to the children about how to read and understand the information provided on food labels and make decisions in order to attain a healthy diet.
